Individuals suffering from fibromyalgia know what pain is. They not only know what fibromyalgia pain feels like but they understand it and know what symptoms to look out for when a fibro-flare is imminent. It’s not at all surprising when a fellow fibromyalgia suffer is going through the exact same symptoms you’re going through, right? Things like sore muscles of the neck and back are far too common. Fibrofog? Forget about it. Sensitivity to pain? Of course. All fibro-sufferers can attest to these symptoms. Oddly enough though, there are some who have said they have some symptoms that are quite different. Do you share any of these top 3 uncommon fibromyalgia symptoms others suffer from?

1.Sensitivity to fragrance.

One of the more uncommon symptoms of fibromyalgia is an increased sensitivity to fragrance. We all are off-put by the guy at the gym that smells like he bathed in Axe body spray or the lady at the restaurant that smells like she dumped an entire store of Bath & Body Works all over herself. Now imagine every odor is that amplified to you. Sucks, right? That is what this would be like. Every delightful (or horribly unpleasant) odor to you is now amplified by 10. So how does that work? Well, it has to do with something medically dubbed as “allodynia” or quite simply, you feel pain when you normally wouldn’t — or everything that touches you hurts. This medical term also incorporates your other senses: hearing, sight, feeling and smell, although it typically affects vision and feeling.

2.Lipoma Pain.

Another uncommon symptom affecting fibromyalgia sufferers is lipomas pain. Lipomas are fatty benign tumors that can occur in various parts of the body but aren’t in direct association with fibromyalgia. There is one issue with this: many people currently have lipomas and aren’t aware. You and I may even have one. Lipomas, unfortunately, affect fibromyalgia suffers in a big way though. Since fibro-sufferers are affected by allodynia, these fatty deposits can be extremely painful. Lipomas commonly grow on the neck, back, and shoulders. This makes sleeping and sitting extremely painful for fibromyalgia sufferers. What’s worse is that lipomas can also grow into the nerves in the surrounding tissues, making things even more painful. If you happen to feel a growth start forming on your body, be sure to let your doctor know.
